Freedom and Unity SquareThis young filmmakers’ lab is about building production and teamwork skills, inspiring and engaging our storytelling abilities, and fostering resources for more ambitious community filmmaking.

Over 8 weeks students will learn about and engage with various production techniques and filmmaking styles. They will be encouraged to strengthen their voice and begin thinking about making a Freedom & Unity Contest film of their own.

The WRIF Freedom & Unity Young Filmmakers Contest (Spring 2022) accepts entries from Middle & High School students across Vermont and New Hampshire, and offers feedback from professional filmmakers, access to a regional media community, and cash prizes.

Summer 2021 Moving Image & Media Arts Camps

This summer CATV offered Moving Image and Media Arts camps for curious creators entering grades 5-8.   From optical toys and celluloid film to digital cameras with green screen effects and on-location filming, camper crews stepped into all production roles to discover the power of collaboration to translate their visions to the screen, including a statewide “Crowdsource Cinema” project to recreate Jurassic Park!  Final camp movie projects are now broadcasting and streaming on CATV.
